editorial winter 2011
finding inspiration in the everyday life
Here we are with our fourth and final edition of 2011, what an amazing year this has been for OUTVisions and especially for me. I was just at the annual conference of Travel Gay Canada in Montreal where some recent surveys reported 93 per cent surveyed said their work place was mostly or definitely tolerant of their sexual orientation. It is very encouraging to know we are winning the battle in the work place.
During the past year we have met and interviewed a wide range of people from the dynamic Shaun Proulx to the lesbian couple who gave birth to a son and to the controversial Ashley MacIsaac.
In this travel section read all about the hot and spicy Mardi Gras Festival in Australia, Outbooks read about “Hidden” a dynamic book about a 15-year-old boy sent to a treatment centre that promised to “cure” his homosexuality. Our fashion spread by Gavin Reynolds is jam packed with winter designs for both men and women by Canadian designers.
We hope you have enjoyed reading our first year’s editions as much as we have enjoyed writing them – 2012 will see new faces, new stories and whole lot of fun.
Thank you for your support in 2011 and we look forward to bringing you great reads in 2012.
From all of us at OUTVisions have a wonderful, safe and happy holiday season see you in the Spring of 2012.
Don’t forget OUTVisions goes well with a cup of hot chocolate.
